Semantic Deterrence: An Open Experiment for the Agentic Web
Semantic Deterrence is an open Web experiment asking whether suspicious automated probing is observed less often after a site returns not only an ordinary HTTP refusal, but also a machine-readable policy state and a clear recommendation to stop. Participating WordPress sites can compare a generic 403 control with fixed semantic responses and optionally contribute delayed, privacy-bounded aggregate statistics without sharing source addresses or requested URLs. It does not replace a WAF, authentication, rate limiting, or server hardening, and it does not claim to detect AI or prove that an attack was stopped. WordPress operators and people working on statistics, privacy, false positives, accessibility, or translation are invited to review the design and join through observations, Issues, Discussions, and Pull Requests on GitHub.

Agentic Web Governance
Agentic Web Governance is an open specification for deciding how AI agents may act on Web systems on behalf of people and organizations: under which authority, within which scope, and with which approval. Independent of transport layers such as MCP, WebMCP, A2A, and REST, it defines a shared governance layer for least privilege, delegation, request-bound approval, execution-time checks, external transmission controls, budgets, evidence, and privacy. WordPress is the first reference platform, not the limit of the project. The specification, threat model, RFCs, reference kernel, and conformance fixtures are public on GitHub. Implementers, site operators, researchers, and standards contributors are invited to bring use cases, challenge open questions, test another platform, or propose RFC and code changes.
